Communications Ministry Assistant

The role of the Communications Ministry Assistant (CMA) is to oversee the church communication strategy of FBC under the direction and leadership of the Lead Pastor. This will require a firm grasp of the beliefs, values and strategy of FBC and the ability to align staff and key leadership teams with its mission, vision and values. The CMA will lead all components of communications to add inspiration, motivation and clarity to church messages.

This is a part time, 25 hour a week position, Monday-Friday or Monday-Thursday, $13-$18 per hour!

Oversight and Execution of Communications

The CMA creates seamless messages that produce simple ways to connect with FBC. The CMA is responsible for ensuring a consistent experience across multiple touch points:

WEEKLY INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

  • Manage all aspects of FBC weekly newsletter and worship guides to ensure great communication is happening between staff and the congregation.
  • Edit and upload sermon videos and audio ensure they are uploaded weekly in a timely manner to proper channels (Website, YouTube, etc).
  • Update planning center app as needed.

WEBSITE

  • Manage all aspects of FBC related websites. Websites should display artistic and creative excellence and content is timely, current and appropriate to FBC.
  • Manage and maintain audio/video podcasts and downloadable documents.
  • Lead all efforts related to the creation and development of all websites (may create and develop sites internally or work with web development companies).
  • Proactively work to make sure FBC maintains an effective presence on the web including style/presence, search engines, new technology.
  • Assist Lead Pastor in blog sites, e-newsletters and other web related issues.

PRINT

  • Deliver excellence in timeliness, accuracy, design, layout and ease of use for print brochures, signage, surveys, direct mail, and custom media.

PROMOTIONS

  • Develop systems to organize, prioritize and communicate all related promotional items.
  • Create communication strategies to market, inform and promote teaching series, big events and other campaigns assigned.

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Create social media presence for FBC including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram and X.
  • Manage on-going social media messaging and communication strategies.
  • Build followings on various social media outlets.

DESIGN

  • Lead efforts to design all art and promotional materials related to church-wide activities with a high standard of creativity, excellence and effectiveness.

VIDEO

  • Work closely with staff to produce creative and effective promotional and announcement videos: concept, scripting, video shoots, editing and post-production.
  • Strategize creative tactics to use video to promote and send the message FBC may want to communicate to the church and the world.

BRAND MANAGEMENT

  • Monitor the look, vibe, and feel of all promotional materials representing FBC.
  • Monitor and establish accountability for the appropriate use of logos and images that represent FBC.
  • Oversee implementation of style guide (same fonts, terms, etc).

OTHER DUTIES

  • Assist other staff members and ministry teams to help pursue their goals.
  • Carry out any other incidental duties assigned by the Lead Pastor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong leadership skills, as demonstrated by previous experience or projects.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders
  • A clear personal commitment to the Gospel that is expressed by a passionate, faith-filled walk with Jesus Christ.
  • Currently active and serving in a local church.
  • A passion for working in ministry and a desire to serve the local church to accomplish the Great Commission.
